STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

Sophisticated clients needed proactive information to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of their insurance planning as needs, objectives (and the tax regulatory environment) evolved.

This concept of being there for clients beyond the career of one partner is a guiding principle at BEJS.

In 1984, four successful independent insurance professionals – Ernest Barry, Sr., Donald Evans, Alex Josephs, and Rick Snipes – joined together to form Barry, Evans, Josephs & Snipes (BEJS). Their mission was to build a firm that could offer a level of service that their clients wanted and deserved – a level that was unavailable through captive agents and insurance carriers.

The founding partners of BEJS recognized that traditional insurance industry servicing is reactive to customer requests. They also knew that sophisticated clients needed proactive information to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of their insurance planning as needs, objectives (and the tax regulatory environment) evolved. To address this opportunity, BEJS developed a dedicated service platform to administer plans and deliver timely and accurate information to clients and their advisors leading to a more effective and positive insurance planning experience.

In addition the founders of BEJS recognized that life insurance policies, since they are due and payable at death, represent the longest lasting contracts into which clients enter during their lifetimes.

Consequently, long-term servicing commitments were of paramount importance to clients. To satisfy this need, BEJS prepared a well-documented succession plan so that continuity of service would outlive the involvement of any one partner. This concept of being there for clients beyond the career of one partner is a guiding principle at BEJS.

Since its founding in 1984, the BEJS partners have succeeded through the disability, retirement, and death of partners; the sale of BEJS to a publicly-held company; and the re-purchase and re-privatization of BEJS. Through these changes, the Barry, Evans, Josephs & Snipes legacy continues – a resolved commitment to service.
